Job Description Summary
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc.
Making on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
Applying protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
Applying paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
Determine appropriate color for new or replacement applications through consultation with customer.
Maintain existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products.
Prepare and apply appropriate materials to irregular surfaces.
Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
Erect various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area.
Identify, safely handle, and appropriately dispose paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.
Conduct routine inspections and monitoring of facility for patch and paint.
Provide general labor services throughout all areas maintained by the Maintenance department.
Provide data to derive performance metrics for management.
Provide general expertise and training to junior staff.
Ordering of tools, parts, and materials.
Successfully complete training and demonstrate an ability to perform the job functions.
Maintain designated work areas in clean and orderly condition.
Complete GMP and other controlled documentation.
Revise or modify existing SOP documentation, and write new procedures as necessary
Interacts with other departments and team members as well as internal/external customers
Follows established safety and environmental guidelines and procedures for all work performed.
Immediately reports safety and environmental incidents including injuries, illnesses, near misses, and safety suggestions.
Fosters a positive safety culture in which no one gets hurt.

Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to learn and use Microsoft Windows based platforms and/or company Intranet.
Available to work overtime when necessary and work varying shifts, including an On-Call program.
Knowledge of shop tool operation and safety.
Ability to work independently.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills
High School graduate.
Proven experience as a painter.
Minimum 3 years in a cGMP environment.

Working conditions include restricted movement; air contamination, dirty environment, hazardous materials, lifting or carrying heavy objects.
Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.
May climb upwards of 6 flights of stairs a day to maneuver within the manufacturing facility.
Climb heights up to 30 feet by ladder.
Lifting up to 40lbs may be required.
Environment requires that gowning in the form of hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves and steel toe boots be worn. Also, no makeup or jewelry can be worn when working in the clean room environment.\
Work with hazardous materials and chemicals.
May wear air purifying respirator and necessary hearing protection.
May crawl, kneel, stoop or work in small work spaces
Schedule may include a non-rotating 4-day (10-hour shift), one weekend day, evening or night hours, or full off-shift hours.
Expected to be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day.
