Retirement & Planning – Retirement Product Manager – Vice President

The Digital and Client Solutions team, reporting to the U.S. Wealth Management CEO, develops industry-leading solutions that enable wealth management clients to live their lives with financial confidence through connected experiences. The team is charged with creating a fully integrated, elegant and seamless end-to-end experience for clients across the Aspiring Affluent, Established, and High Net Worth client segments. We build the strategic vision and lead the development of product and solutions, including online brokerage and advice, digital solutions, lending and retirement products and best-in-class experiences for all clients. Our strategy is to create solutions that deepen client engagement, increase scale and profitability, attract new clients and drive productivity.
Overview of Role:
Retirement Solutions (RS) organization objective is to fuel the acceleration of retirement asset growth by making JPM the IRA provider of choice through innovative programs, such as Income Planning, re-engineering the plan rollover process through simple, faster processes, use of data and digital capabilities and reinvesting the concept of specialized support and building alliances with third party partners. Once past the asset acquisition phase, the organization supports advisors, and clients in order to retain assets through tools, a full and competitive suite of retirement products and ensure the platform meets all regulatory requirements. The team also supports operations and support staff with escalations and expertise, in addition to governance relating to retirement regulations. Strategically focused on alignment and consistency cross line of business.
The Retirement Product Manager will play a critical role in managing key strategic initiatives in the (RS) organization, specifically 1) lead the complex project to design, build and maintain the digital capture of money flowing into IRA accounts and 2) work with Operations to design and build out a retirement concierge desk. They will also support and maintain the business as laid out below. Additionally, the Product Manager will support the Manager on all projects and BAU initiatives.
Ideal candidates will have previous program management experience and demonstrate leadership in supervising large scale projects spanning across technology and operations, transforming the client and advisor experience and impacting the bottom line. Familiarity with platform interfaces would be helpful.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage the design, planning and execution of core strategic initiatives, initially the project to digitally capture money flow from 401(k) plans to individual IRA accounts, using a robust project plan, and pragmatic application of project management methodologies
Execute on the setting up of Concierge Desk, assist in training
Partner with key stakeholders across Operations, Middle Office, Technology, Control Partners to define and document business requirements and drive forth implementation
Communicate project updates to senior stakeholders
Partner with Manager and Product Specialist on all key initiatives, including visioning XLOB retirement utility.
Provide backup to Manager on specific deliverables.
Support specific BAU retirement functions such as CWM Daily Digest and seasonal communications, review and approve client facing forms, management the retirement “Events” calendar.
Retirement liaison and SCPP expert for CWM/JPMS
Stay current on regulatory and legislative items impacting the retirement business. Attend SIFMA Retirement and Estate Planning Committee
Experience in Project Management
Ability to demonstrate leadership to drive forth and influence change
Ability to multi-task and work well under competing deadlines and priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship management skills
Strong MS PowerPoint and MS Excel skills; skills of the future helpful (tableau, alteryx)
Strong attention to detail
Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability and ability to work under pressure
Stresses critical thinking and logic when problem solving; can think creatively and “out of the box”
Ability to present and communicate effectively with senior management
Minimum of 5+ years within financial services and/or program management related role, Retirement services is a plus
Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead change across a variety of stakeholders to deliver results with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
Retirement certification, or willingness to get certified through approved third party programs.
