Coordinates all educational activities for SC Central Cancer Registry (SCCCR) staff and for statewide cancer registrars. Works closely with the Program Director and Data Quality Manager (DQM) regarding administrative activities of the SCCCR Learning Management System (LMS). Routinely communicates to all SC cancer registrars to keep them aware of cancer reporting requirements and educational offerings. Conducts projects in registry operational areas as assigned for the case ascertainment and quality control areas of the Cancer Registry. Assists with coordinating data reporting from non-hospital facilities. Works with Assistant Director on assigned research study activities.
Coordinates all educational activities provided by the SCCCR provided through the LMS to include adding, revising, importing and removing educational content. Assists DQM with administrative functions of the LMS (i.e., running reports and monitoring the learning progress of SCCCR staff). Participates in assigned meetings and conference calls.
Serves as the Education/Training Coordinator (CDC NPCR designation) for the SCCCR. Coordinates all other statewide educational activities and offerings from national standards setters: National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR), North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR), National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA), Surveillance Epidemiology and End Reporting (SEER), and American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC).
Communicates routinely with statewide cancer registrars regarding upcoming offerings, disseminates materials, and provides follow up as needed after webinars/webcasts. Coordinates and performs registry projects as assigned, including data coordination from non-hospital sources, data quality audits, and other assigned projects. Coordinates and performs patient contact study registry activities with Program Director and Assistant Director (i.e., rapid ascertainment, patient consent-to-be-contacted process), as needed. Maintains a positive working relationship with all sources to facilitate cooperation.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
State Minimum Requirements: High school diploma and relevant experience.
Institutions of higher learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Five (5) years of experience in cancer registry. Special certification necessary: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) required.
DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
