This position supports the data collection efforts of the Cancer Care Bundles Project and reports to the Logistics Manager. Duties include data abstraction from both electronic and paper medical records. Specific historical data elements related to breast, lung and colorectal cancers are collected and entered into an online file. Ultimately, other disease sites will be added tp the project. Position includes working remotely, on site at the individual hospitals, and at physician offices in order to gain access to these records. Position will require limited interaction with medical staff at those locations those interactions will not include direct patient contact. The travel required to different locations is periodic (but normally not within the same day).

Responsibilties:
Department goals Actively participates and contributes to the success of the departments goals. Ensure project engagements are handled accurately and within time constraints. Monitoring activities of assigned project Completes and manages all project activities including: Data, record keeping and project communications to ensure data consistently reflect the most accurate and appropriate material, adherence to project requirements and objectives, as well as adherence to good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory compliance. Project coordination Works in collaboration with the dept. coordinator, abstractionisits and team members to organize all aspects of assigned research project from startup to close down activities to ensure project requirements are met and objectives are achieved in a timely manner. Utilizes the applicable IT systems and reviews information for deficiencies, resolves discrepancies. Maintains data entry requirements and follows policies and procedures, reporting needed changes Maintains customer confidentiality and protects PHI Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks according to required timelines Knowledge and proper use of computer equipment Achieves acceptable results through effective use of tools and resources available. Typing and dictation are formatted appropriately, error free and written within the appropriate timeframes. Possesses the knowledge and ability to handle work of the most complex nature and achieves high productive output Project development Works in collaboration with the dept. coordinator to assist in developing approved research projects, including creation of all required documents (i.e., study protocol, informed consent, HIPAA authorization(s), case report form(s) and database(s). Ensures adherence to good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory Teamwork Maintains consistent communication with other team members of department. Telephone management: All calls are answered within three rings (phone) or 5 minutes (beeper) in a courteous and professional manner. Voicemail and email is used and answered professionally and appropriately. Accurately interprets and clearly communicates departments' policies and procedures

Qualifications:
