You will be expected to use your full range of 3D, motion, visual design and prototyping skills. You’ll be responsible for conceiving, researching, designing, prototyping and implementing features for future products, from conception to launch. You’ll work closely with the Design, Engineering and Product management teams at Facebook AR/VR. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual who has experience designing fundamentally new ways of interacting in 3D user interfaces. This position is full-time and based in Seattle.
Research, design, and create 3D models and animations in AR
Partner with the other design team members to deliver high quality 3D models and animations for AR
Assist in creating high quality 3D and 2D art content for internal prototypes and final products
Create textures in various styles, from cartoon to photorealism
Synthesize learnings and communicate them to your cross-functional partners and the AR/VR org
Clearly articulate your design decisions to internal stakeholders
Give and solicit real-time feedback from others to raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product
Partner effectively with PMs, engineers, user researchers, content strategists & QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch - as well as post-launch design support
Create product-ready assets for internal rapid testing and external release
Advocate for product design within the Facebook AR/VR and throughout Facebook
5+ years of experience in advertising, entertainment, gaming or tech industry
Experience modeling, rigging, texturing using 3D software (C4D, Houdini, Maya, 3dsMax, Blender)
A portfolio of 3D modeling and 2D concept work including low-poly models across various settings for real-time application
Experience working with varying poly-count for multiple platforms
Experience with real-time 3D development such as Unity/C# and UE4
Proven problem solving experience and experience overcoming challenges
Experience with AR and VR
Solid communication and presentation experience
