Flat Glass Service Mechanic:

Established in 1968 S. Albert Glass Company has immediate openings for experienced Flat Glass Technician’s in its Glass Replacements Service Division.
The Flat Glass Mechanic is a key member of our team responsible for the quality and efficient installation of Commercial Office Building, Storefronts & Residential Apartment Complexes Flat Glass and related glass products such as windows, storefronts, mirrors, display cases, shower doors, etc. Exemplifying our code of values, you show respect and courtesy to all customers and employees. Specific Responsibilities:
- Install glass, mirrors, shower enclosures, store fronts, door and window hardware in replacement and new installations.
- Insure the efficient use of materials and maintain adequate stock of vehicle
- Conduct accurate field measuring and cut flat glass and mirrors according to specified dimensions and patterns
- Keep company vehicle and equipment properly serviced, clean, and in good working order and condition
- Complete invoices, daily route sheets, and weekly reports as required
- Proactively make problems visible and solve them collaboratively
- Lead and execute continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, delivery and efficiency
- Train and coach other glass techs
- Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions
Requirements:
- Prior experience in the Flat Glass Industry installing Glass, Storefronts, Shower Enclosures and Insulated Glass Units (IGU) in both Commercial Office Buildings & Residential Apartment Complexes.
- Physical ability to work with ladders, scaffolding and related equipment required for glass installation
- No fear of heights on a ladder or lift
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
- Three years of experience as a Flat Glass Mechanic doing comparable type work.
- Be a team player with the rest of the S. Albert Glass Company Staff
- Motivated to learn our business and expand your skill set
- Flat Glass Service Mechanics will be OSHA 10 Certified.
