Job Title: Director, Competitive Intelligence

Reports to: Senior Director, Product Marketing

Based in: Alpharetta, Georgia

The Competitive Intelligence Director gathers, analyzes and distributes intelligence on products, market conditions, and competitors in the UCaaS, collaboration and conferencing markets for business decision-making. Through this analysis, the Competitive Intelligence Director provides actionable recommendations, makes presentations and delivers information as required. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date competitor profiles, battlecards and other tools to enable sales to be more effective in understanding the competition. Review competitor software tools, selling processes, deployment process, pricing and packaging, training and customer support practices. To be effective, the Director will need to understand overall business objectives, product strategies and go-to-market plans to collect the appropriate data and information on consumers, competitors and market place.

Responsibilities

Interpret competitor data and trends across the UCaaS space to formulate regular reporting and strategic recommendations
Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis
Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, pricing/business models, sales and methods of operation
Effectively coordinates, captures, synthesizes and analyzes competitive insights from various channels, maintaining robust competitor profiles that synthesize key insights.
Strategically evaluates data to extract key business implications.
Communicate and inform targeted business information to key audiences, including executive level, in a structured, effective and timely manner.
Effectively conveys strategic implications and recommended course of action as it relates to future product roadmap development and positioning/messaging
Understand competitors' go-to-market strategies, brand positioning, product packaging and pricing strategy, sales tactics and value proposition

Strong communication and presentation skills, especially at the executive level
Strong analytical and critical thinking
BS degree ideally in Statistics, Marketing or related field

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree a plus.
Minimum 8 years of relevant market research, marketing analysis, or strategy experience.
Previous experience in Competitive Intelligence & Analysis, and/or secondary market/industry research strongly preferred.
Previous experience in UCaaS required, other experience in high tech, telecommunications or conferencing industries a plus, but not required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint. Very advanced Microsoft Excel expertise a plus (e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, filtering, etc.). Very advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint a plus
