For nearly 75 years, Iacoboni Site Specialists has been a leader in all aspects of site work including demolition, sediment control, grading, paving, and utilities. We have an immediate opening for experienced Pipe Layers to join our team in the Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC areas.
This position requires a leader both outside and in the trenches. The successful candidate, when not using a laser, will use their leadership qualities as a skilled laborer making sure all materials are ready and by the trench before installation. This position involves physically demanding work in all aspects of pipe installation for water, sewer, storm drains and conduit utilities and includes installation, setting and securing in place, and assisting crew and foreman with all physical labor necessary to complete installation.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PIPE LAYER.
Assures first lifts are free of debris and that the trench is safe to work in and around.
Make sure all tools are ready and by the trench for each task.
Make sure all pipe is properly installed (pushed home, bolted on, collared with cement and brick) so testing of lines will pass.
Hand dig with shovels where necessary.
Properly use chains to move and install pipe of all diameters and sizes, including but not limited to, pipe in excess of 60 inches.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS OUR PIPE LAYER.
1 year experience in setting-up a laser for grade/line work and pipelaying required.
Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, climb, lift, carry and/or use ladders for access in/out of trenches.
Ability to lift and/or carrying in excess of 50 pounds of tools and/or materials.
Ability to hand dig with shovels when necessary.
Ability to work outdoors in sometimes extreme weather conditions. Work is physically demanding and involves walking and working in all soil types (mud, dirt, sand, clay, etc.).
Pipe layers must be able to meet goals and deadlines by working in a productive and safe manner in addition to working well with others and be a team player.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety rules.
Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to worksites, as needed, in a company provided vehicle generally throughout the Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC areas.
