Perspecta LLC was renamed in 2017, from the companies previously known as VIIAD LLC and Contract Analysis Systems LLC. The company was started in 2009 with the intention of providing software and Software as a Service products to health insurers and marketplace intermediaries in the workers compensation markets. The Company had approximately $7 million in revenue in 2017 and has a business plan of >$10 million revenue and profitability in 2018.

Perspecta LLC creates and sells products and services which include: provider directories, provider data services, data insights on insurance claims, adjustor productivity tools, and software to facilitate narrow or high value customized provider portals. In late 2017 the founders exited the company, and in early 2017 Perspecta LLC recruited a new CEO.


Reporting directly to the CEO and indirectly to the Board of Directors, Perspecta LLC is recruiting a Controller/VP Finance to join the current leadership team. The Controller/VP Finance will have successful experience delivering meaningful infrastructure development and participating in the profitable revenue growth for a Health Care/Insurance focused software/services company in the relevant industries. The person hired will be the architect in the development of scalable systems, processes and controls. This Controller will possess strong infrastructure, operational and compliance competencies and the ability to lead and work with the executive team, auditors, accountants, operations executives, investors, Board of Directors and other financial constituencies.

The Controller will provide key leadership in corporate and operational financial including general accounting, financial and operational control; planning, forecasting and analysis; financial reporting; capital formation; cash flow treasury; risk management; audit: taxes; project management; working capital management; financial systems optimization; as well as supporting corporate development activities, which might include strategic acquisitions.

The Controller is expected to play a key role in helping to lead the Company to a successful and profitable sale in the next several years. This eventual transaction will require a lot from the leadership team, which will present challenges above and beyond the already robust scope of the position. The VP Finance will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the sale and will be the “financial face” of the Company in presenting its story and value proposition.

Perspecta is seeking a Controller/VP Finance capable of delivering the following results.

  • Team: Assess the finance team and develop a department plan within the first 100 days.
  • Culture: Instill a passion for action, a commitment for accountability and a willingness for collaboration.
  • Operations: Develop systems and processes to ensure timely and accurate accounting, provider actionable reporting, systematize revenue cycle and streamline practice integration.
  • Growth: Participate in de novo and M&A growth and integration to achieve EBITDA targets.


  • Develop relationships and establish credibility with Board, executive team, operations, product management and technology
  • Work closely with the executive team and Board, to develop and execute a strategic vision and long-term plan for the company's future. This will include identifying and understanding product/service economies, development of key performance metrics.
  • Design and develop appropriate accounting department capable of delivering accurate and timely financials to allow for actionable business decisions.
  • Assist in de novo, expansion and M&A diligence and integration.
  • Systematize the revenue cycle process and define measurable performance targets.
  • Supervise the policies and procedures related to business/budget planning and coordination with operational leaders to implement and monitor plan achievement.
  • Oversee AR/Collections, including management of revenue achievement.
  • Support the CEO in pricing and client negotiations.
  • Oversight of IT systems related to the revenue cycle.
  • Drive cash flow optimization activities and ensure that they reflect expense containment while enabling strategic investments to be made to fuel profitable growth.
  • Oversee compensation, productivity measures and contracting to ensure that budgetary and contractual compliance and incentive plans are aligned with overall goals.
  • Represent the Company in presentations, ongoing discussions and negotiations with banks, investment advisors and the general financial community.
  • Manage the internal and external accountant/audit relationships, deliver accurate and timely financial analytics and reporting and provider support for new and ongoing business development.
  • Teach and explain complex financial issues to non-financial team members in a respectful and effective manner to bring efficiencies, improvements and consistency to operations.


  • 10+ years financial leadership experience in an investor-backed software, SaaS and/or services business. Previous CFP experience is preferred, although Perspecta will consider a first-time CFP with relevant and recent experience. Someone “battle tested” with a proven track record in a hands-on and fast-paced environment is ideal. BA/BS degree and CPA is required. An advanced degree(s) and / or certification(s) is preferred.
  • Success in PE/investor-backed, or publicly-traded finance leader role with measurable business results is preferred.
  • Hands-on involvement with integration of financial systems and ongoing operational analysis.
  • Experience leading a billing operation of a software and services businesses.
  • Successful track-record supporting and improving operations and growth, related to: pricing, analysis, customer communications and negotiation, ongoing financial-related discussions and review and analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute with a sense of urgency to drive results in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.


The successful candidate must demonstrate upmost integrity as a key member and contributor to this entrepreneurial team. This individual must be able to effectively frame business issues and inspire confidence with a variety of internal and external constituents. The individual will possess a track record for flexibility and adaptability in leading operations through major growth and change with an understanding of the kinds of issues generated by high growth and change. The executive will understand the role of a growth company VP Finance and the importance in partnering with the CEO and leadership team to successfully operate the business and generate meaningful value.

Fundamental attributes should include strong communication and listening skills, financial acumen, a thorough approach to the issues, managing to metrics, decision-making ability and a high motivation towards setting and delivering “high service standards.” The candidate should be bright, well-educated and demonstrate reasoned and deliberate thought processes including finance and general business acumen, analytical skills, operations understanding, discipline in budgeting and planning and a strongly developed intuitive sense.
