HDFS’ Reno, Nevada office serves as one of the Company's two operations centers. HDFS first established its roots in 1992 in Nevada. It is also home to Eaglemark Savings Bank, the Company’s lending institution, where all loans are funded. Reno employees represent the loan origination and servicing business units including Collections, Funding, Underwriting, Dealer Services, and HDFS’ Cycle Insurance business unit. There are also employees who work in Accounting, Legal, Global Information Services, Risk, Enterprise Project Management, and Compliance who call this office home. The Manager, Consumer Credit provides leadership and supervision of day-to-day operations of members in the Consumer Credit team. The role is for someone who is passionate about underwriting, credit risk management, and possesses strong leadership skills with a keen eye for detail. The Manager partners with others in the role to oversee all work focused on credit underwriting, service delivery and application processing. In addition to the day-to-day activities, the role is responsible for coordinating with others in the organization to support credit underwriting, as appropriate to ensure work meets service and quality standards. The Manager has the opportunity to lead a team of credit representatives and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the consumer credit review process. The Manager provides recommendations to establish performance objectives and has full responsibility for monitoring and evaluating individual team member performance. The Manager is responsible for ensuring all members of the team work together towards the common goal. The Manager will embrace and facilitate external focus by all members of the group and actively coaches team members to consistently deliver the desired customer experience and business results.

Oversees the efforts of an Underwriting team to ensure appropriate credit due diligence is completed and service metrics are achieved while managing operation activities, including but not limited to, systems, policies and procedures and flow of information.

Interacts with all levels of management to address quality issues impacting key metrics surrounding customer satisfaction, quality, first contact resolution, productivity and service level.

As needed, intercedes on requests with difficult customers and/or requests requiring detailed knowledge of the organization’s products/services and approves credit exceptions (within established parameters) to assist in finalizing loan transactions.

Collaborates with Operations and Work Force management, to ensure acceptable allocation of shared resources, and organized workflow between the operations functions at a team level.

Participate in activities associated with maintaining process/operations, including developing and implementing policies and procedures on systems and the flow of information.

Makes hiring decisions, including interviewing team members within established guidelines and provides employee development activities to ensure that training requirements are fulfilled by team members; conducts/supports cross-training of team members within established guidelines.

Provide direct reports with feedback, coaching, individual development needs assessment, and training gaps, including regular, one-on-one performance reviews.

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience

Proven ability to manage and execute organizational procedures and policies

Extensive knowledge of the most recent performance management techniques

Extensive comprehension of all regulatory and compliance guidelines on federal and state levels

Fundamental knowledge of hiring and interviewing processes

Extensive knowledge of retail direct and indirect credit lending operations

Extensive knowledge of dealership finance operations to include the latest negotiation methods

Knowledge of quality control and regulatory audit processes

Experience with continuous improvement, project management and strategic management certifications

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
