FiveStar Gourmet Foods is currently looking for a well experienced Warehouse Associate for our Ontario Location. Under the supervision of the Warehouse manager, the Warehouse Associate will drive an electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as Reach, Sit-down, Stand-up forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Job Tasks/Duties (not all inclusive):
- This position reports to the Warehouse Lead.
- This position is responsible for shipping and receiving of all raw materials and finished products.
- They are required to work as a team on all the daily shipping and receiving operations.
- They are required to maintain the highest safety standards as well as housekeeping standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the inbound and outbound loads are verified and have all the required information to pick up or drop off materials.
- Prepare any incoming or outgoing paperwork required for each load such as Packing Lists and Bill of Ladings. Verify the material, counts and information before signing off as completed.
- Pick, pull, and stage outbound loads with forklifts as needed.
- Follow all safety precautions before completing the loading or unloading of a truck (placing wheel chocks, jacks, making sure dock plates are in place, etc.)
- Ensure food safety procedures are being followed by all relevant staff.
- Organize and maintain inventory.
- Keep the warehouse area clean and always organized.
- Perform cycle counts of inventory and maintain the highest standards of inventory accuracy.
- Maintain traffic flow for production with raw materials and finished goods.
- Maintain all GMPs and Lean Manufacturing practices.
Education and Experience Required
- High School Diploma required.
- Must be able to do basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- 3 years’ experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
- Forklift Certification/Ability to pass onsite Forklift Certification.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs, stoop, bend, ascend/descend stairs/ladders, and stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment while exposed to the outside temperatures/environment.
- Any other assignments related to operation of the warehouse and supply chain.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
