Located in the heart of SoHo, NYC, Sam Brocato Salon opened its doors in 2008. We are a diverse team of artisans specializing in made-to-wear hair. We skillfully provide a full range of services to achieve your every hair goal: cutting, coloring, smoothing, permanent waving/curling, extensions, and styling. In addition, we offer beauty services, including makeup, waxing, and brow design.
We pride ourselves on our knowledge, expertise, desire, and talent to exceed our clients' expectations. We not only continually pursue the latest in hair trends and education, but we also maintain our own intensive in-house hair designer and colorist education department to ensure our team’s beauty acumen.
We believe in a healthy environment and pledge never to offer any treatments or products containing formaldehyde or other dangerous chemicals. We extend this philosophy to our workplace with eco-friendly practices from recycling to recycled rubber flooring, low-energy lighting, and more.
Sam Brocato Salon is an open rustic-modern oasis that provides a warm and friendly environment and respite from the hustle and bustle of NYC. We are a customer service-centered culture driven by a desire to provide our clients with a customized experience. Position Overview:
Sam Brocato Salon is GROWING! We are searching for dedicated, talented, fashion-forward individuals with a passion for all things HAIR & BEAUTY! As a member of the team and during your apprenticeship program, you will have the opportunity to grow yourself into a world-class hairdresser with one of the strongest education curriculums in New York City.
Duties:
- Assist senior stylists and colorists with shampooing, styling and treatments
- Housekeeping duties such as laundry, sweeping and customer amentities
- Required to attend (paid) classes bi-weekly, in your specialized area of study, either color or cutting & styling.
Requirements
- Valid New York State cosmetology license (temporary or permanent)
- Strong passion for the beauty industry and eagerness to learn
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Superior can-do attitude and work ethic
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
