Job Summary:
EY AI Lab is looking for AI Scientists with backgrounds and experience in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning and natural language processing to help building cutting edge AI products and solutions. EY AI Lab is part of EY Global Innovation with the mission of creating innovative AI technology and products that transform the EY business and the industry.

The position is based in Palo Alto, CA, and reports to the AI Science Lead. The AI scientist will be part of a core team of AI scientists who create proof of concepts of algorithms and AI/ML pipelines, build AI models, and work with a team of software engineers and product managers to deliver AI solutions into production-level AI systems.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Design, experiment and implement various AI and deep learning algorithms to create proof of concepts (PoCs) for AI-based products.

Define, design and develop product-focused AI solutions leveraging Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision and Machine Learning methods and paradigms.

Work closely with scientists, engineering and product managers and domain experts from various industry to build and incorporate AI-based capabilities into solution and offerings that are deployed across all of EY’s service lines.

Drive incorporation of developed AI models and pipelines into production AI systems in both on-prem and cloud-based delivery models, by creating robust, scalable and well-engineered AI components.

Serve as an AI scientist and Subject Matter Professional (SMP), in the face of internal and external stakeholders, and present technical content in technical and professional conferences and internally within EY.

Supervision Responsibilities:
Works independently and collaborates effectively as part of a team of AI scientists and software engineers.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Great understanding and knowledge of machine learning and deep learning.

Prior experience in natural language processing, information extraction and text analytics using deep learning and/or machine learning techniques is a plus.

Strong programming experience in one or more of Python, Java, C/C++, C#.

Experience in machine learning and deep learning libraries such as Tensorflow, MXNet, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, and other open source libraries.

Ability to communicate technical matters clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, win supporters and spur people to action.

Excellent listening, presentation, communications and analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of and across teams.

Critical thinker with excellent judgment and strong initiative

Recognized expertise in an artificial intelligence and machine learning applications as evidenced by relevant education and publications achievements, and/or awards.

Other Requirements:
The location is based in Palo Alto, with limited or no travel expectation.

Job Requirements:Education:
Graduate degree (Master or PhD preferred) in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related fields (statistics, applied math, computational neuroscience)

Minimum of 2+ year experience with relevant AI, NLP, ML design and build experience.

Familiarity in the lifecycle of enterprise-class software development, and agile software development methodologies.
