Software Architects at Kingland have overall responsibility for the definition, timely delivery, quality, and value-cost of the technical deliverables on a Professional Services engagement or Platform Product release. Take charge of your career at our small organization, with development paths that can take you to into leadership positions with the ability to acquire ownership interest in the organization.


Responsible to deliver the technical components of a project on time, on budget, and with acceptable quality
Establish overall technical architecture vision for the engagement or product and create Technical Architecture Blueprints for our software solutions
Through requirement reviews and architecture/design decisions, align scope with existing Kingland platform capabilities, and identify options to meet the business requirements in different ways to satisfy the customer
Ensure successful implementation of the software engineering process, to ensure that the technical team members conform to our corporate processes
Within the boundaries of the our corporate processes, establish how the engineering team works through creation of engineering plans and review any potential changes to corporate processes and standards with the CTO
Review business requirements from a technical implementation perspective, providing feedback to business analysts and requesting further requirement specifications when necessary
Decompose the architecture into elaboration and implementation work packages with estimates, providing these work packages and estimates to Project Manager for inclusion in high level plan
Detail the elaboration needs with work package level details regarding requirements and design needs and provide to Project Manager for inclusion in plan


7+ years of software engineering with 2 or more years as a designer or architect is required
Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical requirements and collaborate with clients to understand their needs, is necessary
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is preferred
Preferred experience includes Java, relational and non-relational databases, Angular UI framework, microservices architecture, DevSecOps and cloud computing
Capable of decomposing a perceived large problem into requisite parts for problem solving
Effective organization and time management skills
Ability to handle a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Adaptable to changing requirements and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Desire to grow skills and take on more complex/critical tasks
A career desire to consult with clients or lead technical teams is a plus
Some travel may be required. Travel may include client visits or travel between Kingland locations depending on team assignment. Travel is expected to be between 0 - 25%


AWS solution architect certification is preferred, but not required
