Purenergy is currently seeking a Group Fitness Manager, the experience we are looking for is a strong background ~ including but not limited to spin, strength conditioning, functional training, kettlebell/TRX, barre, cardio, sculpt, boxing and Pilates. The successful candidate will have knowledge in boutique health and wellness trends, have excellent leadership and communication skills, a thorough knowledge of client satisfaction, and a passion for health and wellness providing exceptional service and experiences to our clients.

At Purenergy Studio, the Group Exercise Manager runs the day to day operations of the Group Fitness department. Will provide leadership to group fitness team members and is responsible for their overall direction, coordination, supervision and development.

  • Create, design, and implement boutique health and wellness experiences for studio clients.
  • Staff on-boarding.
  • Ensure Instructors continue to increase their knowledge of studio programs, products, and services.
  • Supervise daily operation of facility – including equipment maintenance and supplies.
  • Provide the highest and most efficient level of hospitality service expected by our clients
  • Assist increating a comprehensive group exercise schedule. Assist in developing group fitness programming/classes/formats
  • Conduct up to 8 group exercise classes/sessions per week
  • Supervise daily operation of facility – including equipment maintenance and supplies.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with instructors to develop and maintain schedules ensuring overall consistency
  • Monitor business levels to insure appropriate staffing in all seasons
  • Ensure class begins and ends on time.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
  • Knowledge of MS Office, including Word, and Excel, Knowledge of MindBody Online is a PLUS!
  • Engage in social media to promote instructors, classes and special events.


  • 3-5 years of management experience within the fitness industry, focus on training, group exercise and wellness Experience in teaching indoor cycling, barre, bootcamp, strength, cardio HIIT, and/or reformer and mat Pilates is desired.
  • Strong connections with in the Philadelphia fitness community.
  • College degree is preferred, B.S. is desirable, though a combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
  • Maintain valid CPR Certification Nationally Accredited Group Fitness Certification: AFAA, ACE or NASM preferred.


  • Experience teaching exercise classes for clients of all levels and all ages.
  • Strong customer service skills. Good verbal communication

  • Respond to all client issues concerning group fitness classes.
  • Ensure all classes are covered and facilitate sub procedures.
  • Report class tracking numbers on a monthly basis to the owner.
  • Evaluate instructor performance – tracking attendance and attending classes.
  • Submit all seasonal schedule changes to owner for updates to schedule and website. Including special classes for holidays, modifying the schedule for holidays, spring and summer breaks.

Salary: $30,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
