The Project Manager, Human Resources serves as a hands-on partner for all major human resource projects that support data analytics, benefits, workforce planning, compensation, performance management, and special events (Belmont Stakes Racing Festival and Saratoga Race Meet). Working to optimize NYRA’s HR initiatives across the enterprise, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing and coordinating project plans and promoting the consistent use of employee data across the business.
Working to optimize NYRA’s HR initiatives across the enterprise, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing and coordinating project plans and ensuring deadlines are met. The Project Manager shall lead cross functional projects involving internal and external stakeholders in some of the following areas:
HR Key Metrics:
Compile and analyze HR data to provide decision support and help drive the business in areas such as turnover reduction, engagement, cost management, and retention.
Works with the HR team and different departments to create and execute regular data audits. Identifies and implements controls and validation measures to ensure data integrity. Supports day-to-day reporting needs including training, demonstrations, ad hoc reporting, etc.
Ensure the proper employees are receiving the proper coverage. Assist Benefit team with reconciliation of benefit invoices.
Ensure CBA benefit compliance. Support Finance by providing accurate benefit cost analyses and projections.
Coordinate with any outside vendors regarding any interface file changes and issues.
Work with VP, Human Resources and Manger, HR Benefits to identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency measures for benefit plan administration.
Prepare compensation analysis to support the design and development of all compensation programs and processes to ensure alignment with compensation structure, industry trends, and business needs.
Participate in compensation surveys and benchmarks positions for evaluation against market. Maintains up to date job descriptions.
Provide reporting, training and support for the implementation and development of the performance management tool, Halogen.
Own the HR contract calendar and plan pro-actively for opportunities to seek new vendors when appropriate.
Partner with legal and purchasing to lead the HR team in contract renewal, implementation and the RFP process.
Monitor HR procedures to ensure compliance across the department in areas such as job descriptions, I-9, background check, drug testing, EEO reporting,
Maintain/provide records to Internal and External Audit as required.
Provide project management for the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. Work with HR Manager, department heads and outside vendor to develop job descriptions, pay rates and a project plan to ensure company objectives are completed on time and within budget. Analyze vendor reporting to continuously drive improvement and efficiencies.
Manage incoming reporting requests and provide ad-hoc project support and analysis as needed.
Partners with HR Business Partners to design, introduce, and integrate talent management strategies and oversee the scheduling and delivery of all training as appropriate.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Six (6) plus years of project management and/or related HR experience. Benefits, Compensation and data analytics knowledge is required.
Other Preferences: SPHR certification a plus.
