The Visual Studio Release Team is looking for a Privacy Program Manager who will partner with engineering teams to create products, services, applications, and platforms that meet privacy and transparency requirements.

Come join the team responsible for delivering the Visual Studio family of products. We pair world class editing, debugging, and diagnostic tools with cloud services to create developer experiences for building next-generation applications and services that target a variety of devices and platforms, including Windows, iOS, Android, Azure and more. This position works with the feature development teams to ensure these vital developer experiences and technologies meet or exceed users’ privacy expectations.

The individual filling this position will

Evangelize privacy principles including better integration in the development cycle.
Conduct technical privacy reviews for products, services, and communications; document reviews and ensure all relevant information is accounted for to help ensure compliance with audit-level requirements.
Evaluate features, UI, and functionality to identify and mitigate any privacy-impacting concerns.
Ensure Visual Studio products, services, and communications comply with corporate privacy standards, as well as other legal requirements.
Partner as necessary with teams to develop customized solutions; engage with other privacy and legal teams as necessary.
Propose new features, functionality, and tools to drive improvements into the Visual Studio Privacy compliance process.
Identify and drive escalations to the privacy team, CELA, and executive management as necessary.

Deep knowledge and passion for end user privacy, and the ability to learn quickly and apply learnings throughout the organization.
Apply good judgement to risk assessment.
Cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to drive initiatives across organizations.
Develop and track quality measures, metrics, and/or KPIs.
Dive into technical details of features to deliver privacy requirements and innovations.
Passionate for deeply understanding customers.

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a Program Manager or Software Engineer role.
Familiarity with privacy policies.

Preferred:
Previous experience as part of a feature crew/team and ownership of functional specifications/plans preferred.
Privacy Certification (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) preferred.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
