Sr. Software Developer (Permanent or Contract to Hire)
Corporate Office – Information Technology Department
San Antonio, TX
Zachry Group is currently seeking a Sr. Software
Developer for our San Antonio, TX location. The Sr.
Software Developer is an expert of architectural styles
and design patterns. The Sr. Software Developer provides
consultation on complex projects and is considered to be
the top level contributor/specialist, responsible for
initial design and development of new software or
extensive software revisions, compile and write
documentation of program development and subsequent
revisions, annotating the code in the Zachry development
and systems environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*
Broad and extensive knowledge of the software
development process and its technologies
*
Expert Knowledge of architectural styles and design
patterns
*
Understanding of various coding methods and computer
languages
*
Data modeling and database design experience
*
Experience with software development lifecycle
(SDLC) processes
*
Experience with service oriented architecture (SOA)
specifically using Azure
*
Provide consultation on complex projects and is
considered to be the top level
contributor/specialist
*
Ability to guide a team of developers through the
project to completion
*
Responsible for initial design and development of
new software or extensive software revisions
*
Defines product requirements and creates high-level
architectural specifications
*
Apply techniques of programming and data structuring
to specific problems or requests
*
Analyze existing programs, correct errors, test the
changes to ensure desired results are produced
*
Compile and write documentation of program
development and subsequent revisions, annotating the
code in the Zachry development and systems
environments
*
Participate on agile teams in the developer /
architectural role
*
Perform applications support through coordination
and collaboration with development and
infrastructure teams
*
Test applications using automated testing tools
*
Performs any other activities assigned by
management.
REQUIREMENTS
*
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Science,
Computer Science, Engineering, or Management
Information Systems with concentration in Software
Development
*
At least 5 years’ related experience
*
Experience developing applications for web, pc and
tablet devices
*
Development experience with Mobile apps
*
Experience with Windows 7/10 operating system and
Linux
*
2+ years’ experience architecting solutions using
Azure or cloud-based solutions
*

Proficiency with:
*
Visual Studio 2015+
*
C# .Net
*
HTML5
*
MVC 4+
*
Database Design and programming experience
*
SQL Server 2012+
*
Agile development experience
*
Experience with web service architecture
*
Expertise in Ul design
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
*
Experience with SSIS, SSRS and BI
*
Subversion or other source code control repository
experience
*
SQLite or SQL Express
*
WPF, UWP
  • Angular
*
Familiarity with enterprise service bus (ESB)
platforms
*
Knowledge of content management systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person,
via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness,
manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb
coordination, oral expression, and comprehension.
May be required to lift, carry and move objects
safely. Ability and willingness to work in a
hands-on environment and able to lift up to 75
pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will work in a general office environment. Capable
of operating and functioning in a fast-paced work
environment. Must possess a vision (corrected or
uncorrected) that allows for clear visibility from a
distance of 20 inches or less.
