The Deputy Director reports directly to the Vice President of Collective Impact and Director of NCCS and is responsible for consistent high quality of services delivered by the National Center locally and nationally. As the supervisor of the Center’s client-facing staff, this senior leader ensures contract compliance and customer satisfaction while also promoting a cycle of learning between local Children’s Aid schools and the national community schools field.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Leadership

Hire, coach, supervise, and support NCCS Associates to ensure continued growth among center staff and technical assistance clients alike
Coach NCCS Associates to ensure prioritization of pipeline projects with highest opportunity for impact
Implement and monitor annual training programs and ongoing professional development for staff under his/her leadership
Model best practices for NCCS Associates by delivering direct technical assistance with a portfolio of clients and in tandem with Associates as needed
Continuous Improvement

Coordinate the development of scopes of work in client contracts, including converting the results of initial technical assistance assessments into phases of work that include combinations of training, consultation, coaching, and events
Implement and manage NCCS's performance measurement and management systems in partnership with the NCCS Business and Contracts Manager to systematically track and analyze client outcomes and interactions
Ensure outcomes data are accessible to both clients and internal staff and are used to drive continuous improvement of client engagement
Maintain deep understanding of available data to help NCCS and our clients achieve maximal impact and to make modifications to processes based on results
Collaborate with the NCCS Marketing and Events Manager and central Children’s Aid staff from marketing/communications, development, and public policy to provide timely, accurate data that helps us tell our story and engage stakeholders in our work
Cycle of Learning

Partner with local Children’s Aid community schools team to foster a robust learning community; implement and manage systems where national efforts contribute to the local practice-base, and local practice informs the national work
Participate actively in strategic planning efforts for Children’s Aid community schools work
General

Provide support and assistance at large-scale meetings and annual conferences
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred
10 years professional experience managing complex operations/teams with proven success to drive results and create and maintain highly collaborative work environments
Superior data analytics and technical skills
Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement strategies and techniques
Strong management skills and deep desire to help a team grow
Bias towards transparency, accountability and high quality in all actions
Strong understanding and perspective on platforms and processes that can best support a growing professional services organization
Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Willingness and ability to travel
