The Amputee Coalition is a mission driven non-profit organization serving those who have experienced limb loss or have a limb difference. We are recognized as the national leader in support, information and advocacy for the limb loss community. The Amputee Coalition is looking for an energetic, conscientious and detail oriented individual who enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and takes pride in their work to join a fast paced office in Manassas, VA.

Responsibilities

The Development Coordinator serves as an interregnal part of the Development Department.

Works directly with the Development Director to:
Prepare donor acknowledgment letters and other correspondence

Prepare donor solicitations

Maintain foundation, corporate and individual donor files

Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed

Continually update and correct database records as needed

Manage all aspects of direct mail appeals

Conduct research on prospective corporate foundation and individual donors

Prepare foundation and grant applications

Answer donor questions as needed

Prepare donor kits

Maintain lists and gather information for fund-raising events/activates

Handle administrative details associated with Development Department

Other Duties as assigned by the Development Director

Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
Associates degree/ College preferred

A minimum of two years’ fundraising experience

Proficiency in the MS Suite, Database management experience- Salesforce CRM is a plus

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Outstanding time management skills

Ability to travel if needed

Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing

Ability to maintain confidential documents

Ability to work independently and prioritize with little supervision

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure

Excellent interpersonal skills

Preference will be given to a person with limb loss/limb difference with equivalent qualifications and experience.

This position is funded by a cooperative agreement with the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Community Living.
