LOCATION Irvine, CA
LSA's Corporate office in Irvine is looking to hire a Controller. Reporting to the CFO, this individual will be responsible for hands-on management of the accounting and financial reporting functions to effectively and efficiently review and capture financial results, and provide financial reporting and analysis to executives and other internal and external partners.
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage outsourced functions
Oversee the operations of all reporting, cost accounting, auditing, compliance, and cash management functions
Work closely with the Project Accounting Manager to reconcile revenue in compliance with all applicable accounting standards
Supervise, mentor, and train Senior Accountant
Identify and execute initiatives to continually improve operational processes and cost efficiency
Implement processes for establishing, monitoring and reporting on performance against KPIs
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Maintain the chart of accounts
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts and balance sheets
Process month-end closing including all journal entries, corrections, accruals, and revenue recognition entries
Maintain Fixed Assets Schedules and complete corresponding depreciation entries
Prepare and update monthly cash flow analysis
Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement as well as special reports for banking covenants, the board of directors, principals, or executive management
Handle business insurance renewal applications and audits
Prepare annual property tax statements, bank covenants and submittals of financials to bank
Coordinate and prepare year-end financial reviews, tax returns, and overhead rate audits
Assist with the stock valuation process
Handle contract rate audits
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
More than 10 years of progressively responsible experience for a medium-sized firm
Strong organizational skills, the ability to meet multiple deadlines, excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal staff, as well as external parties and executive management
The candidate should be well-versed in FAR and its application to contracts, and have experience in the professional services sector
Preference will be given to candidates with experience specific to the AEC industry and with experience in Deltek Vision
