Buchanan Technologies is currently seeking an experience Technical Analyst for a 6-month Contract opportunity in Irving, TX, to provide analysis, documentation and formal reviews of processes required to enable IT disaster recovery, create traceability for security compliance, and enable operational support.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining written standard operating procedures for use by technical teams for response and technical actions required during an IT disaster recovery/business resumption event.
  • Facilitate the validation of the written operating procedures by conducting simulated disaster walk throughs using the documentation to ensure information is accurate and teams trained on the use of the material.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the repository of documentation and templates required during an IT disaster recovery/business resumption event in a way that is organized and easy to use. Updates process control system databases and creates reports for management as required.
  • Responsible for creating and documenting the end to end IT processes that must be followed to create traceability for security compliance. Inspects activities performed to ensure the processes are being followed and documentation is in alignment.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the repository of documentation and templates required for traceability for security compliance. Updates process control system databases and creates reports for management as required
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Regularly communicates progress and alerts stakeholders if a deliverable is not achievable or is likely to slip, allowing sufficient time for a sensible course of action while recommending alternative approaches and/or options to accommodate deadlines and prevent slippages
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes
  • Develop detailed project plans that specify goals, time frames, limitations, risks, contingencies, staffing, and other resources.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical specifications, process workflows and template designs.
  • General network, infrastructure and application knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience in a Functional/Business Analyst or related role
  • Expertise with written and oral communication in gathering and documenting requirements, creating functional design specifications, business writing skills and interacting with business partners and technical resources at all levels of organizations both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems and alternative solutions to others.
  • Expertise with written and oral communication in gathering and documenting requirements, creating functional design specifications, business writing skills and interacting with business partners and technical resources at all levels of organizations both internally and externally
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and application concepts. May require the need to review network diagrams, mapping documents, application documentation and technical requirements.
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Project.
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Previous experience with the organization of SharePoint or other document repositories
