Merakey is currently seeking a House Manager for our new transition house in Baton Rouge, LA.
The House Manager is a live-in supervisor of clients who live in the transition house. The position involves morning and evening, supervision, guidance and training of young adults on the autism spectrum. The position will require the employee to create and implement house rules, implement individual independence plans, develop house calendar, perform customary chores and assure the safe and smooth operation of the transition house.
Manage residents to ensure safety and progress in their independence plans.
Create and implement house rules to ensure safe, peaceful and effective operation of the home.
Maintain house calendar to manage expectations of the group and individual residents.
Instruct individual residents to continue their progress in their independence plans.
Prepare reports to record the progress of the individual residents.
Implement and ensure compliance with all safety and emergency rules and procedures.
Assist with meal planning and preparation.
Assist residents with planning and transportation into community.
Maintain a clean and orderly home through coordination and supervision of residents.
Handle petty cash and billing for transition home finances (will not handle individual resident's finances)
- HS/GED min requirement
- 3 yrs applicable experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Proven ability to effectively build relationships while influencing behavior to deliver progress toward established goal
- Ability to educate, train and break down concepts to ensure success
- Demonstrates composure, patience and compassion
