ABOUT THE UNITED WAY WORLDWIDE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
The internship provides an opportunity to gain valuable learning and working experience at a leading nonprofit organization. This opportunity is open to recent graduates or current students of a college program. The intern is expected to demonstrate a keen interest in nonprofits, as well as have project management abilities, proficiency with technology, attention to detail, flexibility in handling multiple projects, and ability to sometimes handle and protect confidential information.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This internship will run from early September 2018 – early December 2018.

The Intern will be a part of the International Network Operations & Engagement Team, whose overarching objective is to support our regional offices and teams to enable United Ways across the globe to more fully realize a shared mission and goals by leveraging support (resources, people, and info) both from United Way Worldwide (UWW) and from within the network itself. While reporting to the IN-Operations Manager, this intern position will help the IN-Vice President and other team members on projects.

The intern is expected to demonstrate exemplary writing skills and will be relied upon to deliver quality, substantive work.

PRIMARY PROJECTS:
Collecting and analyzing data related to the network.
Assisting the Manager of Operations on analyzing yearly network data collected through an online platform; advanced understanding of math, excel, PowerPoint, and standard analysis functions required.
Facilitate discussion and consolidate team feedback related to changes to the network’s data collection tool.
Supporting the launch and tracking of the network’s data collection efforts.
Update United Way Online webpages to reflect current project information, resources, and data received from annual data collection efforts.
General research and analysis of current organizations, philanthropic environments, and other metrics; understanding the basics in collecting data and researching techniques required.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The internship opportunity is open to recent graduates or current students of college programs.
Background or interest in Nonprofits, International Studies, Business or other relevant fields.
Must be flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Must have strong analytical and communication skills along with demonstrated leadership ability.
Must have a good understanding of math, excel, and standard analysis functions.
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must be dependable.
Experience working with virtual/online teams preferred.
Ability to multi-task.
Project management and team leadership experience preferred.
International exposure and/or with multi-cultural groups preferred.
