Specifically, a Group Director, is responsible for strategic thought leadership and developing the digital product and people in a specific office. The Group Director is responsible for providing innovative leadership to our clients, prospects, client teams and broader community. The role also helps develop the vision of Resolution for its clients as a lead digital agency, intelligence and effective measurement for our digital media campaigns.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Integration with all businesses while maintaining the sharp edge of digital.
Partnering with the Regional Managing Director and Executive team to grow our business organically and through new business wins.
Becoming an active member of the office leadership team, helping shape our strategies and efforts to be a “best in class” digital marketing agency.
Articulating and evangelizing the mission statement and positioning of Resolution Media as a unique center of excellence among press and key clients, internal teams, etc.
Develop and implement a unique and ownable digital planning and investment process, which supports and works seamlessly with client teams.
Champion change and ways to improve the client services team (e.g., by finding ways to do things faster, at lower cost, with greater creativity or higher quality) for the greatest long-term results.
Drive consensus among key functional units and areas of expertise.
This position will have oversight into staffing on client teams, and each head of the functional units will be responsible for staffing within their own groups.
Representation of Annalect/Accuen synergies – go-to resources working in collaboration with Annalect/Accuen teams to ensure upsell and cross-sell potential is realized and proper integrated planning and account mgmt occurs
Representation of Analytics across accounts – understanding of Annalect-based tools and resources, ensure existing integrated Analytics teams (most accounts have this) understand the value of search data and next gen strategies that can add value
The ability to uphold staffing/FTE decisions, strategic digital direction, client management and contract negotiation requirements alongside the Directors (or whoever is managing the client fee negotiations).
In close conjunction with the Managing Director, the Group Director will articulate the mission statement and goals for their specific location and merchandise that brand positioning among members of the client service teams, Directors and the Executive team.
Lead development of ad hoc points of view on industry wide topics, ensuring that the client service teams, Resolution at large and Resolution clients feel that the client service teams are ahead of the curve and well equipped to anticipate and manage marketplace dynamics.
Charged with making and acting on tough decisions with the speed and sense of urgency needed to stay ahead of the market, competition and client needs, or to improve the organization.
Run all day-to-day operations and work with existing clients to improve the product and people, and upgrade the intelligence provided to teach of our clients about best in class digital media. This includes staffing, running the p + l, and working with Finance and Human Resources.
Participate in industry speaking and writing events
Leadership of regional internal account planning (bi-annually) to cover a) P&L/resource planning, b) opportunity assessment (growth from upsell/cross-sell), relationship temperature check, sister-agency relationship/integration temperature check
Key leadership on product/partner discussions and decisions in region for leverage across accounts
Lead new business efforts and “divide and conquer” various pitches with the President, Business Development Team and the regional leaders, as needed.
Ability to set department priorities, to lead and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment
Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations
Outstanding ability to build partnerships and manage and develop a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of stress tolerance
Leadership, planning, management, organization and supervisory skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferably, although not required, a strong technical understanding of Digital Marketing including SEO, SEM, online display advertising management, etc.
Outstanding ability to think strategically and identify and resolve problems, as well as a strong customer focus
High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation
Bachelors degree or MBA with a minimu of 10 years of experience with client service management, in a complex, technical product environment, including at least five years of management experience, preferably including experience within a startup or digital marketing agency environment
Strong managerial experience, including experience developing and mentoring a team of client service personnel
Demonstrated ability to manage client relations including handling difficult client situations to optimal results for both the client and the company
Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and make appropriate changes throughout the year to exceed company goals
