The Public Prep Network (PPN) is a nonprofit organization that develops single-sex elementary and middle public schools that pursue excellence through continuous learning and data-driven instruction. Our model is designed to empower each student to build strong character, demonstrate critical thinking, possess a core body of knowledge and be on a predictive path to earn a degree from a four-year university.
Our network is currently comprised of three tuition-free single-sex public charter schools across five campuses and one tuition-free single-sex Pre-K. Our campuses are: Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary, Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School, Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School, Girls Prep Bronx Middle School, and Boys Prep Elementary School. The Pre-K program, PrePrep: the Joan Ganz Cooney Early Learning Center, is housed inside of Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School.

Primary Function & Position Overview:
The Administrative Assistant is a non-exempt position and will report to the Assistant Director of Operations. The Administrative Assistant will work alongside the Operations team and afterschool program to fulfill daily tasks and objectives. The ideal Administrative Assistant candidate is a self-starting individual with excellent writing and computer skills, customer service oriented, a proven ability to multi-task, an interest in education, and an eagerness to wear many hats at once.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain high level of customer service and responsiveness to visitors and phone inquiries
Meet and greet visitors at the school reception, answers phones, and responds to general inquiries
Collect, track, log and update student information systems
Support with daily student attendance, including updating attendance codes in Student Information Systems
Create, proofread and edit various office documents
Assist with student transportation, including bus and train card
Coordinate meetings and schedule for school leadership team members as necessary
Support school leadership team with various administrative tasks
Assist Public Prep Community Engagement Team in recruitment efforts, including conducting school tours
Support with the distribution of weekly/monthly school communications (calendars, memos, flyers, etc..)
Support with school and grade-wide inventory and supply closet management
Coordinate school-wide mail services and school-wide mailings
Including sorting mail and packages
Manage routine administrative duties, including copying, filing, etc.
School support duties including supervision of scholars at arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal
Support after-school and family events, as necessary
Ad hoc projects and tasks may vary as responsibilities are subject to change based on the needs of the school
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
2 years of administrative experience
Experience working with children
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, ATS, Student Information Systems/databases and the Internet
Fluency in Spanish, preferred
Ability to work as needed on select mornings, evenings or weekends
