Reston, VA and Arlington with possible travel to Fairfield (CA) – it is anticipated travel to Fairfield will occur 1-2x / year for 1-3 days each occurrence
Pragmatics is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a Software development team in support of the EISS (Enterprise Interment Services System) Program. This person will drive technology transformations with our client, bring a passion for technology to the team, have strong technical acumen, and demonstrated experience in deploying production-ready solutions for customers. This role will work closely with team members, our client, and stakeholders to create new SW code to replace the aging system. All of which will help drive the EISS solution and improve our client’s overall business posture.
Develop, migrate, and manage software systems as Cloud-based solutions
Participate in planning, implementation, and SW deployment on AWS Gov Cloud
Manage full application stacks from the OS to the custom application
Work with SW engineers to ensure designs reflects clients’ business needs and requirements
Run Cloud formation templates and AWS provisioning scripts that defines the Cloud infrastructure
Create Docker images that can be used to contain / launch an application into the cloud
Understand user stories to analyze requirements and create development tasks
Develop the application code per the user story or design document.
High level of comfort in performing white boarding sessions with the team
Experience with development and deployment of web sites, web services for traditional / cloud based servers
Experience in AWS CloudFormation, AWS EC2, VPC, S3 and similar technologies
Must be able to adapt to new technology and keep current with industry certifications
Experience designing and building AWS Services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, etc.
Proficient in developing scripts and scripting languages.
Experience with security, especially knowledge of the DOD RMF process
2 years of experience leading and managing cloud infrastructure-based programs and/or projects
Prior experience working in an agile development environment is highly desirable
Advanced Degree preferred (Computer Science or Systems Engineering, or related fields)
Strong communication skills
Independent thinking and self-driven
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional preferred
Understanding of Agile, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code is strongly desired
AWS, Azure, Atlassian Suite products like Jira/Confluence/BitBucket/Bamboo, Docker Swarm, AWS CloudFormation/ Azure Resource Manager, Python, Lambda, knowledge
