**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee the daily operations of our hospital pharmacy department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospital medicine, with expertise in acute care and critical care. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing a team of pharmacists and technicians, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence. **Duties:** - Oversee the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy department, including the management of inventory, ordering of supplies, and maintenance of equipment. - Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations. - Provide medical direction and guidance to pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and interns. - Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and ensure safe and efficient medication use. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality measures. - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy, with the ability to apply this knowledge in the management of patients with complex medical conditions. - Possess expertise in pediatrics and be able to provide specialized care to pediatric patients. - Perform aseptic technique and maintain a sterile environment to prevent infection. - Ensure the proper use and storage of controlled substances and hazardous medications. - Maintain accurate records and reports, including medication usage and inventory management. - Develop and manage the pharmacy budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. **Requirements:** - A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution. - A current license to practice as a pharmacist in the state where the hospital is located. - A minimum of 5 years of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting, with a strong background in hospital medicine and acute care. - A thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy, with the ability to apply this knowledge in the management of patients with complex medical conditions. - Proficiency in medical terminology and aseptic technique. - Experience in pediatric care and a strong understanding of critical care principles. - Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of pharmacists and technicians. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. - A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and excellence, with a focus on continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care.
