The Department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) at West Point is seeking a laboratory scientist to join the Discovery Bioanalytical group. The primary role of the successful candidate will be to support and contribute to drug discovery teams within the Infectious Disease and Vaccines therapeutic area through implementation of targeted biochemical, molecular, and cell based assays.


Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in the Life Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory research in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry OR
MS Degree in the Life Sciences with a minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory research in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry

Required Experience and Skills:
Highly developed laboratory and technical skills demonstrating flexibility and attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills
Hands-on experience in the utilization of biochemical, molecular, and cell based assays in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry.
Ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic environment and flexibility to work in a fast-paced team in a professional and pleasant manner.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an ability to excel in a team based environment.

Preferred Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of bioanalytical approaches in support of antiviral, antibacterial, and/or vaccine discovery
Experience in molecular and cell biology
Experience with immunoassay platforms such as MSD, Luminex, ELISA, AphaLISA is a plus
Experience with qPCR and digital PCR
Experience in cell-based functional assays to monitor immunogenicity
