Responsibilities

The Exploitation, Phenomenology and Analysis Department performs work at the intersection of hardware system performance, in-scene physical phenomenology, and software-enabled data exploitation – relying on our multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Our department ensures that the delivered capabilities of civil, commercial, and government electro-optical remote sensing programs meet operational needs. We are looking for Software Engineers to deliver key software solutions in analysis and exploitation.

***This role can be filled as an Aerospace Senior Member of Technical Staff or Engineering Specialist***

Key Functions
Implement software for data exploitation and visualization.
Evaluate and contribute to product specifications, algorithms and data formats for a variety of GEOINT data types (e.g. vector, raster, point-cloud, volumetric).
Assess the utility impacts of proposed and existing GEOINT products and algorithms.
Identify and clearly articulate enterprise (e.g., storage, dissemination, end-point software, utility) implications and dependencies as they relate to GEOINT formats and products.
As a member of our engineering matrix, contribute as able to a broad range of projects to flex and stretch skills to adjacent problem domains.
Interface frequently with Aerospace customer-site representatives and Government personnel to define, execute, and status projects.
Distill and communicate the accurate meaning of analytic results and technical concepts.
Work both in cross-functional teams and as an independent contributor as necessary.

Qualifications

Required
Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or Technology.
Minimum of 5 years experience (post bachelor's degree).
Experience developing algorithms to solve problems in science/engineering and mathematics.
Demonstrated strong professional and technical communication skills (e.g., technical documentation, status reports, algorithm description documents, presentation charts).
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks.
Must have the ability to be cleared to Top Secret with SCI access.

Preferred
Comfortable reading technical specifications or standards for algorithms and data formats.
Experience using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other data modeling tools.
Experience using XML and XSD schema.
Experience developing parser/writer (e.g., NITF, JPEG2000 (J2K), H.264, LAS).
Experience with signal and image processing of electro-optical remote sensing imagery, video, and data.
Experience with Python and particularly scientific packages such as numpy, scipy, scikit-*, gdal.
Experience with C++ (possibly C++11, C++14, or boost).
Advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, applied mathematics, or appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution.
Broad range of computer skills/experience including LINUX development.
Current or active Top Secret/SSBI clearance.

Required for consideration as an Engineering Specialist

Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or Technology.
Hands-on experience with developing technical problems into a delivered solution.
Minimum 8 years experience (post bachelor's degree).
Experience with software development and/or prototyping.
Aptitude for leadership and ability to mentor more junior engineers
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Experience developing data models and using data modeling tools.
Experience developing applications in C++ and/or Fortran or Java.
Experience developing algorithms to solve problems in science/engineering and mathematics.
Demonstrated strong professional and technical communication skills (e.g., technical documentation, status reports, algorithm description documents, presentation charts).
Must have the ability to be cleared to Top Secret with SCI access.
