Position Summary:
Provides therapy and rehabilitation services by evaluating patient abilities and creating individualized treatment plans with appropriate therapeutic equipment and exercises in accordance with your education, training, current applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and as may be directed by the Therapy Director or facility Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality care and results are delivered.

Current California Occupational Therapist (OT) Registration/State licensure

Minimum 6 months OT experience, preferably in a skilled nursing, hospital or similar environment

CPR/BLS certifications
-
Ability to manage multiple personality types and remain positive and professional under stress or when others are frustrated/upset
Responsibilities:
-
Evaluates functional levels of patients’, develops treatment plans and provides therapy/ exercises consistent with needs and reimbursement levels

Addresses patient behaviors and results to adjust therapy plans to support engagement
-
Continually evaluates therapy/care plans, adapting treatments towards improving patient health, well-being and quality of life

Utilizes equipment and ensures interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)

Teaches new ways of approaching tasks and breaks down activities into achievable components
-
Recommends adaptive equipment and trains in its use when needed

Coaches and educates family members or other caregivers on therapy activities and/or equipment when needed

Observes, documents, and reports on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals
-
Communicates in a kind, friendly, collaborative and professional manner at all times
