The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a Technical Support for the Registrar Office responsible for technical and analytical work for the office. In general, the person in this position provides diagnostics and maintenance of supported systems; technical support of Student Banner, Workflow, WebFocus, Degree Works, Online graduation application maintenance, and UNC Online management on matters related to technology support and planning; and, generates scripts and reports for the Registrar’s Office.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The primary purpose of the Office of the Registrar is to provide support service to
students, faculty and staff in an efficient and timely manner. Responsibilities and
activities included in these support services are certification of enrollment status,
withdrawal of students from classes, honoring transcript requests, maintaining
academic records.

Work Hours Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

  • Directs or participates in studies of new and existing special projects to determine feasibility, resolve problems including organizational, procedural, technical and fiscal research and analysis.
  • Develops policy and procedures to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and/or improve internal and external customer service with external vendors and university community.
  • Develops information system documentation to support efficient operations.
  • Prepares reports via WebFocus and other programs and written findings and recommendations.
  • Forecasts for the office related to current and future growth through problem analysis of Student Banner technical problems, WebFocus, and other technical systems within the Registrar Office.
  • Provides updates to Registrar regarding technical projects ensuing meeting scope and timeframes, including DegreeWorks, upgrades, and other updates and maintenance issues.
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.
  • Plans, organizes and conducts business process of Registrar functions reengineering/improvement projects and/or reviews of significant or specific to University.
