The Business Development Sales Lead (BDL) will support the local synergy sales team in achieving top line growth and sales goals by capitalizing on new business opportunities by fostering the preexisting relationships with top Diamond and Platinum accounts, EL 360 customers, and Alliance and Buying Group influencers within that local synergy. This will be achieved by working with these accounts in demonstrating Luxottica’s value proposition and helping them develop their business and sell through strategy through formalized business reviews, communication of loyalty and rewards programs, and tailored action plans.
Works closely with the Sales Manager and Representatives in achieving sales growth and financial targets through forging strong relationships and service level with critical customers within the local synergies
Implements and monitors annual partnership and sponsorship programs with local based strategic partners
Fosters strong relationship and provides ongoing support to Diamond and Platinum customers within the local synergies
Inform and help coordinate between local synergy sales teams on key priorities after customer visits to ensure local sales synergy team aligns and activates on these priorities
Operates as a lead point of contact for any matters specific to our top tier customers within local synergy
Demonstrates Luxottica’s value proposition and provides strong business partnership to top tier customers on their sell through strategy
Collaborates with sales counterparts in the field (i.e. other brand divisions, Essilor, etc) in delivering broader synergy programs
Collaborates with regional sales partners in executing quarterly promotions
Ensures a timely and successful of delivery of solutions for top customers’ needs
Develops new businesses with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to exceed sales quotas
Uses competitive knowledge of the independent channel of trade to be able to recommend opportunities to gain market share
Attends local and national events that can be evening based or on weekends
Significant travel required within assigned region up to 80% of time (can be inclusive of overnights)
Bachelor’s Degree, specialty in Sales/Business Management or similar a preference
+3 years of experience working in an account management function or similar role in the optical industry
Strong analytical ability
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and negotiate effectively at all levels of the organization as well as with customers
Strong initiative and sense of urgency
Ability to quickly generate and initiate creative solutions to problems as they arise
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Strong interpersonal skills
Professional selling skills is plus
