The Global Security Program Manager will assist Global Security leadership with managing and coordinating security efforts across the organization. This position will assist in the mission of proactive security by managing the company’s Global Security Operations Center and the systems which enable the department to conduct predictive risk analysis. This position will lead the company’s security investigations program along with the travel security program. This position requires research skills to evaluate new technology and its application as well as excellent communication skills. The position is based in Waltham, MA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the startup and management of the company’s first Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).
Evaluate the various intelligence and social media monitoring products on the market and select/deploy the best suited for Thermo Fisher Scientific
Manage the company’s travel security program inclusive of traveler tracking, risk intelligence, and communications.
Play a vital operations role within the corporate crisis management team and Global Security’s response.
Build and execute a security investigations program inclusive of stakeholders such as Human Resources, Information Security, and Facilities.
Provide training to employees and managers on a variety of security and emergency response related plans.
Attend industry conferences and courses to maintain a high level of awareness and competency within the security industry.
Required domestic and international travel.
Work with outside consultants as appropriate.
At least 5 years professional experience.
Must be proficient, knowledgeable and experienced with security technologies and integration (CCTV, Access Control, Alarm Systems, Mass Notification, Incident Management, and intelligence services).
Must have a strong working knowledge of social media platforms and be aware of the monitoring capabilities with them.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
Strong research and analytical skills to evaluate new technology and application.
Individual must have the ability to work on projects outside of standard working hours when necessary.
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred.
College degree preferred.
Private sector security or public law enforcement experience preferred
Specific experience implementing managing a GSOC and conducting security investigations whether private or public sector.
