Position Description
Our department is tasked with surveying and designing / detailing drawings (all things steel) on various Commercial / Government ships to the facility we work at. We are looking for a key member to assist and support our team in design and detailing using AutoCAD and other various CAD Software.
Responsibilities

Assist the crew and work overflow from the team members with structural CAD design.

Generate accurate buildable shop fabrication drawings

Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data

Assist in processing point clouds from 3D scans (training will be provided)
- Assist in Nesting parts for Plasma table using ProNest (training will be provided)

Assist in creating / submitting purchase request and paint work orders (training will be provided)

Be a "team player" as well as ability work autonomously as needed
Skills
- Very strong computer skills and experience with AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred.

Must be organized, proactive and demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to multitask

Work effectively in a fast-paced high production environment and performs tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as communicate with team effectively.

Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures with steel / structural design
Education:
-
High school or equivalent
Minimum Qualification:
-
5+ years of experience in Steel Fabrication
- AutoCAD: 5 years minimum
Preferred Qualification:
-
Solidworks
-
Rhinoceros
-
ProNest & OmniBevel
-
Experience in shop work
Schedule:
-
Monday to Friday, 6am – 2:30pm at our Swan Island Facility
