Plan Review Engineer

Nestled in the heart of Jefferson County, West Virginia, and less than 70 miles from the center of the nation’s capital, the City of Ranson is seeking an ambitious and qualified individual to assist the City of Ranson in its continuing mission of becoming a model for how a small city on the fringe of a major metropolitan area can foster sustainable economic development, transit and community livability through targeted and strategic planning and infrastructure investments.

This position will provide technical support in the development of compact walkable development, and sustainable development practices. The City's Plan Review Engineer will review development applications under the City's adopted Form-Based Code. This position will perform a variety of advanced technical, administrative, and supervisory work in directing engineering activities related to development review and capital projects throughout the City. Performs complex administrative and higher level professional civil engineering work in the design, construction, inspection, and coordination of a variety of public works projects; processes, reviews, and approves plans associated with residential, commercial, industrial and public assembly development, subdivision, transportation and other projects for conformance with City and State standards and current civil engineering practice; and performs other duties as assigned.
