CONSTRUCTION PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.

DESCRIPTION

This position will support our North Carolina Construction Services Department and general services for Greensboro office. Along with the essential duties this position will require to be located at the reception desk, handle fleet trucks, invoices, and claims, receive deliveries, answer the main phone line, handle calls and emails from statewide construction services field staff, follow up with NCDOT certifications. Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer. Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records. Answers and screens manager's telephone calls, and arranges conference calls. Coordinates manager's schedule and makes appointments. Greets scheduled visitors and conducts to appropriate area or person. Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations. Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes of meetings. Composes, types and copies outgoing correspondence, including e-mail and faxes. Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance. Maintains personnel records of staff and space-planning records for the department. May perform basic accounting duties, such as light receivables/payables and/or invoice approval preparation. Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. Basic knowledge of spreadsheet, word-processing and presentation software. Candidates with construction experience and/or knowledge is a plus.
