The Dispatcher must be able to allocate field technicians to specific tasks to keep the workflow going and is the point of contact for all customers seeking service. Must work effectively with Supervisors and Managers to help keep technicians’ schedules moving forward efficiently. This individual should also enjoy working with people and have strong communication skills.
Basic computer skills
3-5 years of customer service background
Desire to learn and ability to follow processes and procedures
Dispatching experience in a similar industry is required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:
Allocates field technicians to specific tasks to ensure efficient workflow
Acts as the point of contact for all customers seeking service
Responsible for scheduling technicians, keeping track of the schedules, and communicating schedules to customers
Updates and closes work orders on time
In order to operate at an efficient level, the dispatcher must understand the field technician’s strengths so they can dispatch the right technician to the job
Supports and works with the Operations and Service Managers/Supervisors on scheduling technicians appropriately
Responsible for allocating technician time to correct work orders on a weekly basis for Payroll
Updates spreadsheets with the technician work load
Provides logistical support to the field to assure maximum output of labor.
Qualifies every request for service to establish maximum response time requirements
Informs Service Manager of work progress, customer relations, field personnel relations, material administration and other matter affecting service operations
Advises Service Manager of customer complaints to expedite resolution ensuring and maintaining long term relationships while communicating resolutions to customers
Satisfies customer problems by understanding the nature of problems, location of problem and location of personnel
Maintains a basic understanding of mechanical systems in order to make appropriate decisions in scheduling all types of work
Understands city layout concerning reassignment for spot calls, assignment of scheduled work, purchasing and transfer of tools, materials, and equipment
Maintains awareness of availability of equipment and how utilized
Locates and coordinates use of equipment to best meet needs of field personnel
