Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking anentry to mid-level professionalSystems Administrator to join the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Team. The CDM program is a DHS-managed approach to fortifying the cybersecurity of government networks and systems. CDM provides federal departments and agencies with capabilities and tools that identify cybersecurity risks on an ongoing basis, prioritize these risks based upon potential impacts, and enable cybersecurity personnel to mitigate the most significant problems first.
The Systems Administrator will be a customer facing technical representative of the program for a customer Agency and be a member of a matrixed team of Systems Engineers, Systems Administrators, and Network Engineers in deploying solutions at a customer Agency. This role includes the following:
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products and implementations.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Analyzes, documents and reports technical problems, determines cause, assesses alternative solutions, implements corrective action and monitors to avoid recurrence.
Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
This individual will be part of a team charged with tailoring a core solution of system components for a specific customer implementation, within a large-scale agile integration program. This role serves as an on-site Agency facing administrator. This role is expected to be ~75% at customer sites in the Washington DC metro area.
This requisition may be filled at either level 2 or level 3. To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
BS degree with 3 years of relevant experience (STEM - Science, Technology Engineering, Math or related area is preferred but not required), Masters degree and 1 year of experience, 4 years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.
Level 3 BS degree with 6 years of relevant experience (STEM - Science, Technology Engineering, Math or related area is preferred but not required), Masters degree and 4 years of experience, 4 years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Intermediate to advanced level experience administering Windows and/or various Linux operating systems in a customer environment.
Intermediate level knowledge in troubleshooting and issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and basic networking concepts.
Novice level ability to monitor and identify network policy violations and system breaches.
Novice level ability to train users in applications and operating system fundamentals and to write basic documentation.
Novice level ability to write scripts in some administrative language, such as Perl, Python, VBScript or Windows PowerShell.
Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS suitability EOD (US Citizenship required).
Must be able to travel ~75% at customer sites in the Washington DC metro area.
Experience deploying/administering cyber solutions at Federal Civilian Agencies.
Experience using cyber tools, esp: Tenable Nessus/PVS, Forescout CounterACT, Nexpose Rapid7, IBM BigFix, McAFee ePO/PA/AC, FireMon, ServiceNow, RSA Archer, Cisco or Palo Alto solutions, NMAP, Sailpoint.
At least 2 years of experience performing in a technical role, on a large-scale agile program (i.e. more than 5 Scrum teams working towards a common program objective).
Certifications: CISSP, MCSE, RHCE, Linux System Administrator, VCP6-DCV, Server+, Security+, Network+.
