Brief Job Description:
Drivers will operate company trucks collecting residential household waste, recyclable and or yard waste material. The driver will transport the material to a disposal, transfer station at our shop or recycle facility when trucks reach legal load capacity. The driver will need to be able to safely maneuver vehicle in all residential environments along with being able to navigate in any high traffic and congested roadways, alleyways, driveways, and lots.
This job takes place outdoors Monday-Friday depending on routes 40-55+ hours a week. This position offers year-round work and opportunities for advancement.
Routes & Schedule:
- Home every night
- Schedule: Workdays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Saturday work, sometimes required when holidays fall within a week or as business levels require.
- No holiday work required
- Start time varies depending on route usually somewhere between 4:30-5:30am
- loading and unloading waste
- Rear load trucks require constant lifting as well as stepping on and off the truck at each stop.
Requirements:
- Must have CDL A or B License with air brakes endorsement / no airbrake restriction.
- Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical
- Must be able to manually pick up refuse bins weighing up to sixty (60) pounds.
- Must be able to operate automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
