Description

Underthe direction of Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for reviewingall special inquiries, quotes, and sales orders and develop the engineeringdata base required for the design and production of those products.

Responsibilities

Worksclosely with NPD/VAVE Engineers to assure compliance with product design andCode.
Maintains a working knowledge of allCodes and Standards applicable to the assigned product lines.
Prepares and maintains project filesfor sales orders. Establishes andmaintains a customer specification file.
Provides Marketing/Sales with technicalreview and expertise on inquiries and quotations of assigned productlines. Assures that the product offeredconforms to specification and application requirements. Communicate withMarketing/Sales to resolve customer technical issues.
Reviews project and order specificationsas well as Code requirements to determine design criteria and specialrequirements.
Translates specification requirementsinto materials, drawings, bills of material, procedures, and instructions foruse in the production of that product.
Provides engineering support andexpertise as required for the project through the manufacturing, assembly, andtesting process.
Provides engineering input for specialpricing for assigned product lines. Establishes costs to design and testspecials. Develops information necessary for Manufacturing to estimate the costincluding bills of material, special requirements, and testing.
May perform other special projects or dutiesas requested by the Sustaining Engineering Manager.

Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in SAP ERP system.
Experience in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD package.
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices, standards/specifications, and manufacturing processes particularly related to the valve industry.
Candidate should be results oriented with good organizational, prioritization, and team-based skills.
