Alterman, Inc. has an opening for the position of Technologies Project Manager. The Technologies Project Manager will be responsible for all assigned projects and customer accounts. The Technologies Project Manager must accept the final responsibility and accountability for the execution of all projects and contracts or customer accounts as assisted by management. These tasks are to be carried out at the lowest cost, safely and at the highest quality consistent with contract requirements and good business practices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to effectively work with 5 key components: Account Management, Project Management, Project Planning, Material Procurement and Labor.
- Identify “critical path activities” of the project and prepare documentation to accomplish these activities.
- Coordinate and preplan projects: review plans and specs, budgeting, job cost entry, scheduling, preparing project documents, monitor productivity, job cost projections, contract interpretation and attend project meetings.
- Communicate information concerning operations to management as directed so that all parties have a full understanding of overall project operations.
- Ensure that all duties of this position are carried out in compliance with Alterman’s stated mission, vision, values, safety standards and company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with Alterman personnel to ensure that expectations are being met.
- Must be willing to put in the effort necessary to ensure that job duties are performed completely and accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management position, including estimating and project engineering.
- Successful completion of Teledata Apprenticeship BICSI certification training, or similar/equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a field supervisory position.
- Must have working knowledge of Data Systems, Fiber Optic Cabling, MDF/IDF build out, cable management products, per BICSI Standards.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand contract documents, plans, specs and requirements.
- Proficient computer skills with all basic office programs (Word and Outlook) and the ability to learn and use related software and systems are required. Advanced computer skills are strongly preferred.
- Financial competency in project budget/costs and forecasting.
