Peraton is seeking a dynamic, strategic Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to lead an impactful procurement organization and act as a collaborative business partner to the other executives of the company. The CPO must have excellent leadership skills as well as a successful track record of working with suppliers, subcontractors, and improving cash flow. The CPO is responsible for the executive leadership and strategic direction of Peraton’s procurement function. The CPO will align procurement strategy with enterprise goals and objectives, and is responsible for integrating value-added procurement initiatives in the areas of compliance, strategic sourcing, procure-to-pay lifecycle, proposal activities, positive cash flow management, active subcontractor management, and workflow efficiencies.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CPO will assume a strategic role in the overall growth management of the company. The CPO will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all procurement-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for planning, forecasting, and commitments for supplier and subcontractor relationships.

Responsibilities of the CPO include, but are not limited to:
Maintain approved Purchasing System and all necessary internal controls;
Identify and appropriately escalate critical issues within the function;
Actively participate in the strategy and development of proposal activity;
Maintain and update all procurement policies and procedures;
Lead organizational development of procurement staff to include staff assessments and implementation of functional training program;
Develop risk management strategies for procurement that are consistent with the enterprise risk profile and government regulations;
Ensure the highest ethical standards of good business practice for staff and suppliers;
Deliver and track a strategic sourcing program for direct and indirect spend;
Develop and implement operational efficiencies of processes and tools e.g. procure-to-pay, automated workflows etc.;
Develop a functional self-audit program to ensure compliance;
Develop a Cost Savings Program;
Ensure active subcontractor management;
Lead the function to ensure positive cash flow management;
Actively interact with DCAA/DCMA;
Partner with Business and Functional Leaders, providing information necessary to drive financial performance improvement through procurement efforts; and
Develop clearly articulated short-term and long-term procurement plans and strategies with specific, measurable benchmarks supporting the aggressive growth and acquisition plans of the Company.
Professional experience of the CPO include, but are not limited to:
CPO candidates shall have a demonstrated history of engagement in industry associations or councils to benchmark capabilities and maintain current knowledge of best practices for Procurement solutions and proven ability to direct, manage and develop a large, diverse and distributed organization;
10+ years of procurement experience with at least three years as a stand-alone Chief Procurement Officer or an equivalent role within an organization;
Government contract accounting knowledge required;
Experience with a high-end technology solutions firm is preferred;
Proven track record of running and enhancing the procurement operations of standalone companies or self-contained subsidiaries that range from $500M and higher in revenue;
Demonstrable experience in the refinement and enhancement of procurement-related systems;
Demonstrated ability to optimize working capital metrics;
An exceptional ability to identify, recruit, motivate, coach, develop, and retain a strong team;
Outstanding communication and presentation skills both oral and written; a boardroom presence and ability to communicate effectively with external constituents; and
Must have active DoD clearances or ability to be cleared, TS/SCI is preferred.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contracting, or Procurement programs is required. A Master’s Degree or MBA is highly preferred.
