Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Radiation Effects Analyst 5 to join our team of creative and diverse engineers. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The Radiation Effects Analyst 5 will perform radiation effects analysis, shielding analysis, survivability analysis, prompt dose rate and SGEMP analysis, radiation analysis reporting, and simulation of electronic components relative to space radiation effects. Experience with radiation testing, radiation exposure, parametric measurements, and circuit design/simulation is essential to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with nuclear hardening, dose-depth curves, displacement damage-depth curves, dose mapping, parameter degradation, and part evaluations.
- Nuclear hardening and SGEMP design and analysis
- Electron/proton/x - ray transport
- Single event effects, upset, and transients (desirable)
- Design review presentation experience
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of electrical engineering/relevant experience OR
Master's Degree in STEM and 12 years of electrical engineering/relevant experience
The ability to obtain program access
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Experience developing software / writing code in Java, C++, C# or other OOP languages
Experience with scripting languages, messaging protocols like DDS and JMS and Web Services (SOA and Rest)
Knowledge of Linux/Solaris systems with basic commands
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance
