Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director for Administrative Operations, Jupiter, FL.

The Assistant Director for Administrative Operations reports to the Executive Director of the Brain Institute and is responsible for the Institute's financial and personnel management.
Summary of responsiblities:
Works to ensure the success of Institute-sponsored research, education and outreach programs through oversight of federal and foundation grant submissions, budget projections of existing funding, careful resource management, timely and efficient procurement practices, and mentorship of faculty and staff in financial and personnel operations.
Ensures appropriate certifications and necessary compliance of the Institute, its faculty and staff.
Works closely with the Executive Director and the Assistant Vice President for Research Finance in the Division of Research to ensure optimal financial management of institutional and external resources that support programs of the Brain Institute programs of the faculty and staff recruited by the Institute.
Preparation and oversight of the Brain Institute operating budget, oversight of submission and management of faculty grant applications, and direction/annual review of administrative staff.
Oversight of equipment and supply purchasing, financial modeling with the Executive Director for ongoing and proposed programs, and interactions with other administrative units of the university. The ADAO will supervise Institute administrative assistants that support the needs of Executive Director and Institute faculty related to grants and personnel management.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and five years appropriate experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
