Provides thought leadership and specialized consultation to System Office and health ministry (RHM/NHM) CEOs, CFOs, SVPs, VPs and Directors to drive key strategic initiatives that are essential for Trinity to meet system goals and standards. Manages and oversees the review, and positioning of multi-million dollar capital projects that are essential to the ministries' operating performance. Work assignments are complex, sensitive and require specialized skills that are both technical and consultative in nature. Must be able to present and/or explain complex work to senior leadership and Board level colleagues in a concise and easy to understand fashion. Possesses highly technical advanced analytic skills (e.g., statistical forecasting, Monte Carlo Simulations, intervention analysis). Provides ministry level planning consultation; particularly for ministries that lack local planning resources. Manages and oversees internal and external (consultants) team members in the creation of technical models, tool kits, strategic overviews, and education to ensure consistent high quality work throughout each ministry. Delivers on inputs that are key to achieving Trinity's financial, mission-oriented, and system goals. Leads the effort in ensuring connection and collaboration throughout the organization by leading multi-functional (e.g., Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Payer Strategies, Marketing and others) workgroups. Manages multiple external relationships with essential system-wide planning resource vendors, consultants, health departments, and other community agencies. Ensures HIPAA and other regulatory compliance related to our data use agreements both internally and externally.


1. Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in behaviors, practices and decisions. 2. Leverages extensive industry knowledge to review and consult in the creation of RHM strategic plans and the development of long range financial plans, budgets, and business plans. 3. Develops and administers the Senior Services Assessment process and tool kit for use by RHMs. Travels to RHM and facilitates a day-long workshop with key stakeholders. Creates a comprehensive report of opportunities for growth and service improvement. Presents results of the assessment to senior leadership at the RHMs . 4. Develops RHM inpatient and outpatient volume projections by using various data sources (e.g., actuarial data, large vendor data sources, and public data) and methodologies (e.g., bed need modeling, statistical forecasting, and Monte Carlo simulations). Explains volume projections to RHM leaders (e.g., CFOs, senior planning executives) and educates them on the process and methodologies used to obtain the projections. 5. Serves as a primary system office planning contact with the RHM (e.g., CEO, CFO, and CSO) as they develop capital project requests, budgets and long range financial plans. This may include working as a conduit between the ministry and external consultants on volume modeling and strategy setting. 6. Manages small to midsize projects related to system and departmental growth and planning initiatives and special projects. Often acts as the lead for multi-functional work groups around new initiatives. Scopes projects, creates timelines, reacts to ambiguous/changing environments and delivers results through written and oral presentations. 7. Applies considerable knowledge and experience in researching, identifying, collecting, and organization thousands of pieces of data into comprehensive strategic overview documents and portfolio reviews used by senior leaders throughout the organization to have a better understanding of our markets for major capital investment and/or strategic repositioning/divestiture decisions. 8. Presents results of skilled nursing, home health, and hospice portfolio review to senior leaders and the Continuing Care Board. 9. Utilizes specialized skillset to design and prepare in-depth market studies. Gathers other strategic information through methods such as literature reviews and meta-analysis. This includes gathering, analyzing and summarizing market data as well as financial and clinical data from publicly available and internal sources to inform growth plans, M&A Playbooks, and other strategy deliverables. 10. Applies understanding of data and industry knowledge/trends to identify significant findings and make recommendations for improvements. Translates complex analysis, research methods and findings into communications delivered to a variety of audiences through written and verbal reports. Applies excellent writing and presentation skills, including ability to create graphical presentations of data. 11. Provides thought leadership, analytics and reporting to RHMs and NHMs in the development of strategic plans, business plans, marketing strategy development, medical staff development and strategic financial analyses. Serves as a content expert for local ministries. 12. Manages and oversees relationships with Trinity Health Information Services and software vendors in order to maintain and update departmental databases, tools and other planning resources related to decision support and planning studies. 13. Oversees large vendor relationships. Coordinates and facilities vendor demonstrations, trainings, and facilitates feedback on vendors on behalf of all colleagues at system office and the RHMs. 14. Transfers knowledge through original training sessions and support to users on strategic planning software, analytical tools, and databases. 15. Responsible for the development, content management and upkeep of the Strategic Planning website. 16. Performs other duties in support of departmental objectives and initiatives, as assigned. 17. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations including HIPAA compliance, Certificate of Need regulations, the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.


1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field. Must possess a strong knowledge of healthcare strategy and analytics. Master’s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field strongly preferred. 2. Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible health strategy (e.g., strategic planning, health administration, consulting) experience. 3. Strong interpersonal, consultative, written/oral communication, process facilitation skills. Ability to interact with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders about discrete and sensitive topics. 4. Must possess advanced problem solving, evaluative, planning and analytical

skills. 5. Experience working with data, including analysis, interpretation and presentation of data, and use of large, complex databases. 6. Manages small to medium sized system-wide projects. Works with multi stakeholders to build good, productive working relations and censuses. 7. Experience in data analysis methods, including statistics, research design and/or program evaluation. 8. In-depth experience using data-oriented applications such as Excel and Tableau. Must be proficient creating charts and graphics in Excel and/or business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau), and integrating material from different sources into a single document. 9. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Must be proficient in Word and PowerPoint, and Thematic mapping. 10. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced mapping software and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau) 11. Must be able to work independently, with minimal day-to-day direction and work in teams. 12. Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership, matrix environment. 13. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines. 14. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring as well as the ability to inspire and to motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.
