DLD, a boutique architecture, interior design and construction services company is seeking a part-time design assistant and Archicad designer to assist the owner with various architecture and interior design projects.

This position is initially a contract position but we would like to find a permanent person ultimately. You would be able to work from home on a contract basis but would be able to work in the office as well if you like.

Coordinate construction, document setup, & detailing for efficient, functional and safe interior and architecture projects w/ design elements incorporated to reflect company’s brand. Provide guidance on constructability, building codes, detailing, and cost of designs. Coordinate w/ other professionals, such as building contractors, to implement plans and specifications for each project. Confer with clients to determine requirements and factors that affect interior environments.

Sketch preliminary design plans, including electrical and partition layouts, and utilize Mac platform for computer-aided drawing (CAD) programs ARCHICAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite to create 3-D visualizations that include construction elements, such as walls and roofs.ARCHICAD EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT PROFICIENT IN THE ARCHICAD PROGRAM (any version).

Select materials and ensure proper delivery and installation of design elements. Manage projects including ground-up construction, core and shell repositioning and designing creative workspaces. Review construction documents drafted by Designers.

Travel within North America (up to 10%). General assistant duties around the office, and when needed.

Min. Reqmts: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design or a related field. Prior experience must include: (a) 1 year utilizing ARCHICAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite; (b) 1 year working with project management, construction administration, budget review, and building codes; (c) 1 year of client relations including consultant coordination; and (d) 1 year coordinating construction document setup and detailing, and residential projects including ground-up construction and creative workplace.
