The Sales Associate will assist customers in the selection and acquisition of flooring products and handle materials inside the store. The Sales Associate members play an important role in the productivity of the store and works with other team members to handle all store needs. This position is non-exempt from The Fair Labor Standards overtime requirements.
Summary of Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the store manager, the Sales Associate’s primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Interact with customers via phone, email, and in person daily.
· Handle, organize and store materials.
- Create orders and quotes promptly ensuring the accuracy of all relevant details.
- Handle sales transactions including cash, credit/debit cards, charge, and returns.
- Receive and unload material shipments while ensuring the accuracy, quality, and condition of the material and recording all deliveries.
- Label and sort incoming materials to maintain store organization.
- Prepare materials for customers by pulling and staging each job’s required materials.
- Ensure correct materials are prepared for each job.
- Assist in loading trucks for customers/installers.
- Utilize the inventory management system to continuously track and update material inventory in the store.
- Maintain store order and cleanliness.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries by cross-referencing materials received against the picking tickets and order sheets provided.

In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level. The successful candidate for this position should have experience working in a warehouse environment and possess a working knowledge of warehouse procedures. In addition, the candidate should have experience in customer service and an understanding of the sales process. The Sales Associate will be expected to demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of the business, standards, and products of Dollar Floor Store. Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
- At least one year of warehouse experience is preferred.
- At least one year of sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in operating a forklift is preferred.
Mathematical Skills:

- Calculate and understand simple figures and amounts.
Computer Skills:
- Ability to learn industry specific computerized inventory control systems.
- Proficiency in web applications, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay:
· $13.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience
· Plus Commission (after probationary period)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Saturday’s as required
