Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer)

Job Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating designs under the direction of a Senior Engineer and/or Senior Designer. You will also develop specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for a variety of projects of different sizes and types

Additional responsibilities include:
Establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the Senior on the project
Participating in internal QA/QC process for your work and the work of others
Assisting in the ongoing determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets
Performing construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
Assisting in processing RFI's, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Mechanical Engineer role should have the ability to design system layouts and coordinate production of detailed drawings for a variety of project types. Candidates will be required to coordinate their work amongst internal teams, outside consultants, and clients. Candidates should also have a good understanding of basic mechanical systems and local code requirements. Someone who exhibits an understanding of the practical application of sustainable principals to our building designs would also be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 4 to 6 years' experience working in a consulting firm
Current PE registration, preferred; E.I.T. accepted in lieu of P.E.
LEED AP, highly preferred
History of working with projects such as Federal, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical
REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience
Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Excel and Word
