Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to engineer and support a high quality, secure, and resilient hosting platform for the organization's operational mission and business needs. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for providing premier top-tier engineering support for the Global Enterprise Hosting Platform Infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include the following:
Applying industry and/or organizational best practices and supporting processes for the planning, analysis, design, and engineering of new or enhanced enterprise hosting platform capabilities and services
Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for all supported enterprise hosting platform Infrastructure components
Translating the customer’s requirements into hardware and software specifications
Analyzing hosting platform capacity and throughput requirements in response to demand forecasts and operations trends to determine, plan, and provide hosting platform engineering capabilities and services to support existing and projected workloads
Designing and implementing highly available, reusable automation or workflow services to expand or modify enterprise hosting platform capabilities and services
Supporting virtualization and aggregation of the underlying physical hardware resources across multiple systems and
virtual resources
Monitoring managed enterprise infrastructure platforms to identify performance issues and ensuring the overall systems integrity
Preparing technical engineering documentation, including both, system-level and user-level documentation, as appropriate
Providing relevant technical sustainment engineering training inputs
Leading and/or participating in Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to assist in resolving issues and/or concerns, as well as establishing and/or refining enterprise infrastructure engineering standards and procedures
Providing top-tier hosting platform engineering support for assigned incident and/or trouble tickets, service requests, and change requests submitted by internal and external customers
Identifying systems integrity issues and solutions for the full Systems Development Life Cycle from concept to disposal
Ensuring services are provided according to the prescribed and relevant Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Operational Level Agreement (OLA)
Communicating outage and/or degradation of service issues and concerns to management in accordance with SLA and OLA
Other duties, as assigned

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Solid Tier 4 troubleshooting and/or support skills for global enterprise
Windows Server diagnostics and troubleshooting
Demonstrated experience with some of the following: Web services, SOAP, REST, APIs, XML, PostgreSQL, J2SE, PowerShell, and Bash Scripting
Knowledgeable of networking hardware, protocols, administration, and systems integration across multi-tiered highly secure IT environments
Strong experience with virtualization technologies
Strong experience with storage technologies
Experience with Windows Operating Systems (e.g., Win7 and Win10)
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks, while under pressure
Ability to self-learn, act on own initiative, and work in a dynamic environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service orientation

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure technologies
Experience in field systems is preferred
Nutanix AHV, Prism, Calm, AFS, ACLI/NCLI, PowerShell, and/or CMDLets
Cisco UCS and UCS PowerTool Suite
NetApp CDOT, OCSM/OCUM, DtaaONTAP, and/or WFA
VMware ESXi, vCenter, vRA/vRO, and/or PowerCLI
Experience with VDI technology (e.g., Citrix Presentation Server, XenDesktop, and/or XenApp)
UNIX/Linus Centos, FreeBSD/NetBSD, RHEL, and/or SUSE LE
Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V, Visual Studio, Active Directory, and/or Windows PowerShell Workflow
ACL/Permission Management
PKI (e.g., Netscape/RedHat) and/or Certificates (e.g., SSL)
Familiarity with Agile practices, such as Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps continuous integration and continuous delivery implementation
Experience utilizing CI/CD pipeline
Experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and/or Ansible
Experience working with network protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTML5, HTTP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, iSCSI, and/or IPAM

Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidate must have one of the following:
12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
10 Years of job related experience and Associate degree
8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
Work Hours: Core Hours 9:00 - 3:00
